Browse our list of area highlights below, and please let us know if you would like additional information about these or other attractions.

Volcán Barú

EXTERIOR GROUNDS

Located within Volcán Barú National Park, Panamá’s highest mountain stands over 11,000 feet high and provides views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea from its peak on clear days. As its name suggests, Volcán Barú is a Volcáno, and is considered potentially active, though it has not erupted in at least 500 (and possibly over 1,500) years. Hiking, Jeep and ATV tours of the mountain are available; ask the hotel front desk for assistance with booking.

Hot Springs

COWS

Hot springs are renowned for their therapeutic properties. Consider taking a walking tour of the area before treating yourself to a soak in the springs, and follow it up with a dip in the cool waters of the river.

Haras Cerra Punta (Horse Ranch Tour and Horse Riding)

EXTERIOR GROUNDS

Tour a thoroughbred horse ranch in the heart of the Central American mountains at this unique destination. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can ride one of the ranch’s horses (with a guide leading the horse on foot).

Sitio Barriles

HORSES

The owner of the land on which this fascinating archaeological site lies provides informative tours of the in situ artifacts. There is a small museum onsite as well.

La Amistad International Park

HORSE BACKRIDING

Measuring well over 40,000 square feet, this UNESCO World Heritage Site straddles both Panamá and Costa Rica and offers an abundance of beautiful flora and fauna at which to marvel, including the famous Quetzal bird. Ask us for help in arranging a tour.

Lagunas de Volcán

EXTERIOR SIGN

Take a guided tour of these beautiful lakes and the nearby coffee farm (the coffee in this part of Panama is world-class). You’re likely to see some spectacular birds here, and you can also fish in the lakes if you so desire.

Bocas del Toro

EXTERIOR GROUNDS

Are you in the mood to venture beyond Chiriquí Province? Then head north to Bocas del Toro Province. Its capital city, also named Bocas del Toro, is located on the main island, Isla Colón, part of the province’s Bocas del Toro Archipelago. Unlike the alpine atmosphere of the Chiriquí highlands, Bocas del Toro has a distinctly tropical feel; the beaches here are lovely.

We are located 45 minutes from the city of David.

To get to our hotel:

Take the Interamericana road to the district.
Deviate onto Bugaba Via Volcano.
Once in the Volcano community should take the road opposite the police station leading to Cerro Punta.
We are about 15 minutes down this road.
